Academy Award or an Oscar is also called film awards most notably in the United States. Cup nicknamed the Oscar Academy Award as an Academy librarian Margaret Herrick saw it on a table and said, “looks exactly like my uncle Oscar!”. The name was still attached and is now used as common name of an Academy Award himself, even by the Academy itself
Academy Awards in Hollywood began around 1927 and is an award ceremony for the hard work members of the Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the professional association of film workers. This group requires a kind of gift-giving trophies to show for dinner. Told, that’s when the term Oscar appeared. A statue maker from Los Angeles to see a knight statue that stood on the roll of film with a sword in his hand. Knight statue was first made using bronze. And now Oscar is made of alloy, britanium, and coated with gold. Height 34.3 cm and weighs 3.8 kg
The reason why the Oscars are used as the name of the award trophy is still unclear. One story mentions that the statue knight looks similar to a librarian academy they used to call Uncle Oscar. Based on that similarity, the members of the academy started calling the small Oscar as the name of the knight statue. In the sixth year of presentation, columnist referring to what the staff refer to as the Academy Award of Meritas be Oscar. Staff Academy using the name of this small in 1939.
All that began at a dinner attended by 270 members turned into an international tradition that no fewer than 6000 members to attend academy
